Minister David R. Curry, Jr.

David R. Curry, Jr. is the first born son of the late Superintendent David R. Curry, Sr. and the late Gladys Butler Curry. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, David is one of the most recognized and sought after Ministers of Music in the nation. Without any formal training in music, David began playing the hammond organ for his church at the age of seven. People from far and near would come to hear this gifted child play and minister. Shortly thereafter, David began to write and compose songs for the choir and his family.
David is the Co-Founder and Minister of Music of the World Renown Mississippi Mass Choir, as well as one of the leading songwriters for the choir. He is also a part of the Executive Board of the choir, and serves as Vice President. David is CEO of Gospel Ministry, lJJc. He is a music producer, songwriter and musician extraordinaire who is gifted in playing multiple instruments. He has produced or co-produced for such artist as: The late Reverend James Moore; Keith Pringle; Reverend Lawrence Thompson; The Curry Family; The D. R. Curry Memorial Choir; The Mississippi Fine Arts Seminar Choir as well as
The Mississippi Mass Choir. He currently serves us the Minister of Music und Organist at Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
David is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including: Musician of the Year; Choir Director of the Year; Song of The Year; and Artist of the Year with The Mississippi Mass Choir. The Mississippi Mass Choir has also received the Stellar and Dove Awards, as well as being nominated for a Grammy. He has traveled extensively throughout the world, including Japan; Africa; Bahamas; Greece; Italy; Germany; and Spain.
More than any other accolade or description, the words, "Child of God", best suits David. Along with being anointed and gifted, David is also fun-loving and full of life. He is fully persuaded that God is the source of his gifting and anointing. Giving God the ultimate is his aim, ambition and goal, nothing less. He gives all thanks to God for his gift of music ministry throughout his life
of songs and praises, bringing- deliverance to the hearts of all mankind.
David is the husband of one wife, the beautiful and talented Emma Laster Curry, and the father of three anointed and gifted children, David II, DeQuan and DeArcus. David is fully and totally committed to God. His scripture prayer is 1 Colossians 1:9-14.
